How we sort search results

This page explains in which order DriveGate shows instructors in search, map and comparison.

1. Default "Relevance": paid placement first

In the default sort order "Relevance", schools with a paid Pro subscription are shown before all others and carry the badge "Pro · paid placement". Free, Medium, the trial and plans unlocked by DriveGate have no priority and no such badge.

2. Your sort order

If you choose another sort order (distance, popularity by number of reviews, price or rating), only that order applies. Paid placement plays no role then, the badge stays visible.

3. What "Relevance" counts

In "Relevance" after the paid placement, and in any other sort order in case of a tie, we use the distance to your search location (up to 20 km), the reviews (average, weighted by their number) and a bonus for new profiles in their first 14 days.

Who is shown

We show active instructors with a confirmed phone number and complete details of their driving instructor licence. The profile shows whether DriveGate has already checked the licence.

"Book online" and "Request"

"Book online" means you book a free slot directly. "Request" means you write to the instructor and get an answer by e-mail. This has no influence on the order.
